Marketing & Digital Engagement Manager

Founded in 1936 and situated in western North Carolina, Brevard Music Center stands as one of this country's premier summer training programs and festivals. More than 1000 gifted students, ranging from high school through post-collegiate and beyond, come to the Music Center every summer to study with a distinguished faculty of over 150 artists from the nation's leading orchestras, colleges, and conservatories.

President & CEO Jason Posnock and Artistic Director Keith Lockhart lead the Brevard Music Center's Institute and Festival. BMC is seeking a full-time Marketing & Digital Engagement Manager to coordinate marketing and public relations efforts across all departments and media.

Position Overview

The Marketing & Digital Engagement Manager is responsible for executing day-to-day advertising, social media, and digital marketing initiatives that enhance Brevard Music Center's visibility, deepen community engagement, and support ticket sales, enrollment, and fundraising goals. This position manages content creation, scheduling, and campaigns across digital platforms, while analyzing performance metrics to optimize engagement and return on investment. The ideal candidate is a creative and detail-oriented professional with a passion for the arts and proven experience in digital marketing and social media management.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Marketing & Advertising

  • Develop, execute, and monitor paid digital advertising campaigns (Google, Facebook/Instagram, YouTube, display, etc.) and to maximize ticket sales, student applications, and donor engagement.
  • Develop, execute, and monitor print and radio advertising campaigns to maximize ticket sales and enhance organizational visibility.
  • Track and analyze performance metrics (CTR, conversion, impressions, etc.) to adjust campaigns in real time.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and internal staff on creative, targeting, and reporting.

Social Media & Content Management

  • Manage BMC's and BMC President's official social media accounts (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube), ensuring a consistent, engaging, and brand-aligned presence.
  • Create, curate, and schedule multimedia content (images, video, stories, reels) that highlights concerts, educational programs, faculty, alumni, and community impact.
  • Respond to audience interactions and monitor conversations to build authentic engagement.

Email Marketing & Web Presence

  • Build and distribute email marketing campaigns (via Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or comparable platforms) to segmented audiences.
  • Support updates to the BMC website with fresh content, event promotions, and digital assets.
  • Ensure messaging consistency across web, social, and email platforms.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with colleagues across departments (Education/Artistic, Development, Box Office, etc.).
  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to improve digital reach and engagement.
  • Contribute creative ideas for marketing campaigns that highlight BMC's mission and programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Arts Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in digital marketing, social media, or advertising (nonprofit or arts organization experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of digital advertising platforms, analytics tools, and social media management systems.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
  • A sophisticated sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and effective communication
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Collaborative spirit, with flexibility and creativity to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Passion for music, the performing arts, and community engagement.

Working Conditions

  • Work takes place primarily at main office. Travels to other BMC buildings as needed to coordinate work, attend meetings and concerts, etc.
  • Local/area travel related to community events, concerts, etc. May have occasional overnight travel for conferences, conventions, and promotional events.
  • Works extended hours (including weekends and evenings), and is on call at all times during BMC's summer season.
  • Position reports to Chief Advancement Officer

Requirements
