Assistant Piano Technician

Reports To: Vice President & Chief Artistic Officer
Supports: Chief Piano Technician


The Assistant Piano Technician reports to the Vice President & Chief Artistic Officer. Duties are assigned by the Chief Piano Technician and Artistic Coordinator. The Brevard Music Center is a Steinway Institution.


  • Responsible for the tuning and maintenance of approximately 50-60 practice room pianos.
  • Responsible for the tuning of one concert grand piano throughout the season.
  • Includes 30 hours of grand and vertical piano action regulation and voicing work under supervision and instruction from the Head Concert Piano Technician.


  • Completion of one nine-month course in piano technology from a certified trade-school or educational institution.
  • The ability to use an electronic tuning device (ETD) for pitch corrections.
  • Complete a satisfactory background check.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license

Compensation: includes a season stipend paid bi-weekly, full board, and on-campus housing.

Brevard Music Center is a summer institute and festival.
