A graduate in Music Education from Trinity College Dublin/RIAM, Oisín Mac Diarmada began playing fiddle at a young age in Clare, subsequently moving to Sligo and developing a deep interest in the fiddle style of the Sligo are. Described by The Irish Echo’s Earle Hitchner as “one of the most gifted and creative traditional fiddlers playing today”, Oisín was a founding member of Téada in 2001, toured for 14 years with legendary singer/accordion-player Séamus Begley, and continues to perform and teach throughout the world. Oisín was invited by Music Network to perform a curated concert tour throughout Ireland in 2023 and most recently has recorded and toured internationally with Sligo trio Lane to the Glen alongside Daithí Gormley & Samantha Harvey. He was invited by Music Network to take part in a curated tour throughout Ireland in 2023, and performed at the National Day of Ireland at EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
