Sue Barber

Associate Professor of Bassoon at James Madison University, Chair of the Woodwind Area, and member of the Montpelier Wind Quintet. Dr. Barber is an active performer and clinician, presenting workshops and recitals throughout the United States. She has held positions with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, Natchez Opera, The Hartford Symphony, The Connecticut Opera, Sarasota Opera, Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia (Spain), Acadiana Symphony, and the Soni Fidelis Woodwind Quintet. She performs regularly with the Roanoke Symphony, Richmond Symphony, Opera Roanoke, and Opera on The James. She has also performed at the International Double Reed Society International Convention, National Flute Association Annual Convention, and the Midwest Band and Orchestra Conference. In addition she has performed with Santa Fe Pro Musica, The New Haven Symphony, Rhode Island Philharmonic, National Repertory Orchestra, New World Symphony, and participated in the Banff and Sarasota Chamber Music Festivals.
