Eclipse Weekend @ BMC

August 18 - August 21, 2017

At approximately 2:36 PM on August 21, 2017, the Total Solar Eclipse will be in the direct path of totality in much of Transylvania County. It will be the first total solar eclipse seen in the continental U.S. in 38 years, and the first to sweep across the entire country in 99 years.

Join Brevard Music Center on our beautiful 180-acre campus in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina as we celebrate a once in a lifetime opportunity to view one of nature's most spectacular of astronomical events!

Although two Eclipse Weekend events are currently sold-out – the Lyle Lovett concert (August 18) and the BMC Fundraiser (August 21) – we invite you to join us on August 19 and 20 for two iconic movies shown on the big screen at our open air Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium. Beverages and candy will be available for sale, and free popcorn will be provided for all movie-goers attending Apollo 13 and 2001: A Space Odyssey!

Eclipse Weekend Accommodations

All proceeds from Eclipse Weekend @ BMC benefit Brevard Music Center Summer Institute and our mission of teaching gifted young musicians to prepare and perform great musical works at a high artistic level.

For detailed information about the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse, we suggest visiting the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute website.
