Program Services Assistant

The Program Services Assistant works with the Marketing and Performance departments in the production of printed concert programs for the Brevard Music Center's summer season. This includes the acquisition of concert information (repertoire, performers, etc.), coordination of production and pick-up/delivery with the printing company, tracking costs and volume, and assisting as needed for student concerts.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Final production, distribution, and running inventory of Overture Program Book
  • Assist with production and dissemination of promotional materials, including production of campus videos, posters and flyers, web postings, etc.
  • Assist with run-out concerts
  • Other general tasks to aid the marketing and performance departments, as assigned

Job Requirements

  • minimum two years of college experience
  • courteous and clear communication skills
  • knowledge of performing arts, especially music and related terms
  • Photoshop and InDesign experience a plus
  • proactive in nature, must take initiative and problem-solve
  • must be responsible for deadlines
  • ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects independently
  • valid drivers license; vehicle needed

Term of employment is from June 14 to August 10, 2010. Exact daily schedule may vary but the position requires a full-time commitment throughout the employment period, often including weekends due to the vast number of performances. The position requires a commitment of seven days a week, however, time off will be negotiated as the performance schedule dictates.

On-campus housing, meals, and a salary of $2000 are provided.

Brevard Music Center is a seven week summer institute and festival. Four-hundred young musicians from around the country come each summer to study and perform in over 80 concerts ranging from orchestra to opera, chamber music and pops.
