Programs

Depending on age, Brevard's students enroll in one of two divisions.

Advanced Division (AD)

The Advanced Division is for the student who, by June 25, 2008, will be at least 18 years old and who will have completed at least one year as a full-time college student. The Advanced Division fosters artistic development, providing frequent performance opportunities in a professional environment.

AD Curriculum includes:

  • Weekly private lessons with BMC Faculty
  • Ensemble rehearsal and performance
  • Chamber music
  • Masterclasses
  • Seminar classes
  • College credit is available for some activities
  • Free admission to all Festival events.

Young Artist Division (YA)

The Young Artist Division is for the student who, by June 25, 2008, will not have completed one year as a full-time college student but who will be at least 14 years old. The Young Artist Division fosters artistic development and exploration. Performance opportunities abound.

YA Curriculum includes:

  • Weekly private lessons with BMC Faculty
  • Music theory
  • Music literature
  • Ensemble rehearsal and performance
  • Chamber music (in most programs)
  • Masterclasses
  • Free admission to all Festival events

YA students may enroll in private lessons on secondary instruments, space permitting.
