Please adhere to the following:
- Record your audition according to BMC's requirements for format and content see the auditions page.
- Your complete audition program must be contained in one mp3 file. Multiple files from one student account will be rejected.
- Several software packages will encode mp3 files. Winamp and CDex are free, popular examples for PCs. With care, Apple's iTunes can be used to make mp3 files on the Mac platform. (Please read the iTunes documentation in light of BMC's requirements.)
If you need to combine separate wav files or mp3 files, you might try the free Audacity editor (http://audacity.sourceforge.net).
Your mp3 file meet certain specifications:
- Encode the file at a constant bitrate of 160 kbps, or use a variable bit rate that yields a similar file size.
- The length of the mp3 file must be less than 20 megabytes. Files larger than this will be automatically rejected by BMC's server.
- You may name the file anything you want; BMC attach the file to your account.
- Upload your file to the Brevard Music Center via your web browser. This is accomplished via the online application process.
